Micro Housing

Michalski Studio was asked to help study the viability of shared unit micro housing that would retrofit existing apartment housing stock in New York City. Flexibility of all elements of the unit including furniture, cabinetry and wall surfaces was paramount. Each bedroom includes a furniture piece that transforms from a sofa to a bed. In the kitchen a gathering table stows on the countertop as a cutting board. All wall surfaces must be utilized whether for storage, artwork or supergraphics that visually expand the cozy confines of the space.
